Before cinema told stories, a machine set out to look at the world.
The Lumière brothers filmed factories at dusk, the arrival of a train, a family table, a baby’s meal. Nothing extraordinary. And yet, everything was.
Animaciclo is born of that first sense of wonder.
A traffic sign tells a fable.
A stone stretches awake.
A shutter opens onto a tiny theatre.
Faced with a city saturated with screens, Animaciclo releases images that arrive by bicycle and settle like fireflies on things we seldom notice: a corner, a crack. The Firefly Brothers work with small lights; through them, the mundane becomes fantastic, and the city turns into an immense playground.
